Iran and Iraq hold consultations on human rights and combating terrorism
Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism - The Iranian ambassador in Baghdad held consultations with the Iraqi Minister of Justice and National Security Advisor on strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the fields of human rights and combating terrorism.

Mohammad Kazem Al Sadegh, the Iranian ambassador in Baghdad, met with the Iraqi Minister of Justice and National Security Advisor and discussed issues of mutual interest.
In order to pursue bilateral cooperation in the field of the Ministry of Justice and to convey the invitation of the Minister of Justice of the Islamic Republic of Iran to his Iraqi counterpart to pay an official visit to our country, Al Sadegh, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met with Khaled Shawani, the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Iraq.
During this meeting, the issue of the situation of prisoners and the necessity of expediting the exchange of prisoners sentenced to imprisonment based on the existing agreement in this field, as well as areas of joint cooperation, including the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of human rights between the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Iraq and the Human Rights Headquarters of the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and other issues of mutual interest were discussed and exchanged.
Al-Sadeq also met and exchanged views with Qassem Al-Araji, National Security Advisor to the Iraqi government, to discuss bilateral cooperation in the field of combating terrorism and strengthening areas of joint cooperation in order to enhance relations and transfer experiences in this field, as well as discuss the implementation of the bilateral security agreement.
Recent developments and the current regional conditions and the need to continue joint cooperation in the field of combating terrorism were emphasized by the parties, and such exchanges will continue.
