According to ISNA and citing the police news agency, it was announced in a statement that during a major and complex operation by the “Counter-Terrorism Unit of the Islamic Republic of Iran Police Command”, a suicide and terrorist network affiliated with the ISIS group that intended to carry out sabotage and bombings at a recent ceremony was dismantled by hard-working colleagues in the Greater Tehran Police Command and the provinces of Isfahan, Qom and Alborz.
The police spokesman stated: “In this operation, all 13 members, including the group’s leader, guidance and support teams and suicide bombers, were arrested along with equipment and supplies, including suicide vests and backpacks.”
