Israel’s Role in Creating and Supporting Terrorism in West Asia

Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism – According to IRNA, the Israeli Channel 12 TV reported, quoting a security official, that Israel has armed an ISIS-affiliated group in the Rafah region with the aim of defeating Hamas and trying to replace this movement, and if successful, they will implement this plan throughout Gaza.

According to IRNA, citing the Israeli Channel 12 TV, an Israeli security official announced in an interview with the network that if the pilot plan to arm an ISIS-affiliated group in Rafah and defeat Hamas is successful, this plan will be implemented throughout the Gaza Strip.

This action is a continuation of the Israeli regime’s continuous efforts and policies to completely occupy Gaza, end Hamas rule, and form a new institution in place of this movement. This is while the Israeli political leaders (regime) explicitly reject any Palestinian sovereignty, including the PA.

The security source confirmed the Israeli regime’s efforts to strengthen ISIS-affiliated groups in Rafah, claiming that arming them has saved the lives of Israeli soldiers. He added: “The Israeli army hopes that strengthening this group will lead to the defeat of Hamas and the elimination of this movement from Gaza.”

He also clarified that the Israeli regime made several unsuccessful attempts with local tribes in line with this plan until it decided to arm ISIS-affiliated groups in Rafah. The security source said: “If the pilot plan to arm this group is successful and leads to the defeat and elimination of Hamas, it will replace this movement.”

According to him, this pilot plan is currently being implemented in areas that are occupied and are fully under the control of the Israeli army. He added: “According to this plan, the groups will be placed in a limited area and will have weapons and the authority to operate.”

On Thursday, Avigdor Lieberman, the leader of the “Israel Our Home” party and the regime’s former Minister of War, announced in an interview with Israeli television that security agencies had transferred weapons to ISIS-affiliated groups in Rafah by order of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

According to him, Israeli security agencies, on Netanyahu’s orders, have provided offensive weapons and light weapons to groups close to ISIS and opponents of Hamas in the city of Rafah.

Stating that the transfer of these weapons to Rafah would pose a security threat to the Israeli regime, Lieberman said: “This operation is being carried out secretly by the Shin Bet (Israeli internal security agency) without cabinet approval.”

However, Netanyahu’s office did not deny his words and issued a statement announcing that the Israeli regime, on the advice of all security officials, is trying to defeat Hamas in Gaza in various ways and with all levers of pressure. Meanwhile, Netanyahu, by attacking Lieberman, considered the disclosure of such information to be in Hamas’s interest.

In this regard, Yair Lapid, the head of the Zionist opposition, criticized this action and warned: The weapons that enter Gaza will ultimately be used against Israeli army soldiers and Israeli citizens.

The Zionist regime’s support for terrorist groups in the region is no secret. During the war of terrorism against the Syrian people, the regime also supported ISIS terrorists in southern Syria and treated the wounded of terrorist groups in its hospitals.
