Terrorism and Underdevelopment; Two Sides of the Coin of Insecurity

Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism – IRNA News Agency examined the impact of terrorism on underdevelopment in the southeastern regions of Iran in a report.

In this report, we read; When the terrorist group Jaish al-Zalm ignites terror on the shores of Makran, its first victims are the people; a group that, claiming to defend citizens, terrorizes development and leaves the footprints of its Zionist masters on the soil of Sistan.

The shores of Makran, this land of a hundred treasures of Iran along the open waters of the world, have once again been targeted by terrorist groups. Chabahar is a strategic port on the geopolitical map of Iran and the region, a region that can turn Iran into a major commercial and transit hub in the region and fulfill the long-standing desire of the people of Sistan Province for development and prosperity, but if a terrorist incident occurs, development will be short of breath.

Terrorist groups claim to defend the people in this province while the first and biggest victims of their violence are the people themselves; with every terrorist act in this region, the people, especially the youth who are looking forward to the development and prosperity of the coasts, are one step away from their dreams, and this means “development terrorism”; that is, a war with the people’s hope.

In a situation where the Zionist regime’s hostility against Iran has passed from a battle in cyberspace and sabotage to a point of direct military conflict, border security has become the country’s vital priority; the enemy, which is afraid of Iran’s missile and drone power, is today seeking to insecure the interior of our country using tools such as terrorist groups.

Jaysh al-Zalm is more than a local and ethnic group; this group has become a tool for implementing “internal destabilization” policies with the financial and intelligence support of Iran’s enemies, especially the Zionist regime, for years; In fact, with their explosive operations, terror and intimidation, they are completing the same plans that Zionism draws to weaken Iran in the international arena.

In addition to its military importance, the Makran coast is Iran’s main opportunity to overcome economic sanctions and connect to global markets; the development of this region changes Iran’s economic map and creates stable income and widespread employment for the eastern provinces of the country, so any terrorist incident in this region is considered part of the enemy’s economic war against Iran.

The report continues, carrying out terrorist operations on the Makran coast is what Zionism wants; they know that if this region is safe, domestic and foreign investors will flow in, people will get jobs, prosperity will increase and Iran will stand stronger against international pressures, but they want to make this region insecure so that the path to development is blocked and the enemies can more easily impose their political and economic pressures.

But the important point in all these equations is the people, the ones in whose name the groups commit crimes but in practice ruin their lives; the reality is that security and development are two sides of the same coin; if there is no security, there will be no development, and if there is no development, there will be no sustainable security.

The people of the Makran coast emphasize that today, in the midst of the Zionist regime’s aggression, terrorists are actually serving the enemies of the people by terrorizing development, but just as the blood of security martyrs is the key to the prosperity of Makran, this land and its people will never allow “terror” to take the place of “development” in the history of this region.
