
The perpetrator of the attack on the Shah Cheragh shrine in Shiraz , Fars Province, was a member of the ISIS terrorist group, and this attack resulted in the martyrdom of thirteen people and the wounding of more than thirty. Among the dead were two children and a woman.
The attacker entered the shrine and opened fire on pilgrims. The ISIS-affiliated Al-Naba newspaper called the attacker affiliated with ISIS.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the attack and offered his condolences to the people and government of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The European Union also condemned the attack as terrorist. The governments of China, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Oman, Syria, Pakistan, Venezuela, Egypt, Turkey, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Finland, and Iraq condemned the attack. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Tajik President Emomali Rahmon also condemned the attack.
Citizens from Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Azerbaijan were present in the decision-making, financing and material support and execution of this terrorist incident. This indicates the planning of the main leaders of terrorism in the region to create ethnic and racial chaos among the nations of the West Asian region. This highlights the need for the people of this region to be vigilant against this dangerous phenomenon and to understand the main roots of insecurity and terrorism based on the nature of an instrument for the global interests of the hegemonic system. Terrorism in any form and manner is condemned and regardless of the nationality in which they are present, they are a tool in the hands of the power seekers of the hegemonic system.
