Holding a photo exhibition of “Victims of the Baath Regime and Terrorism” in Baghdad

Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism - The Abbasid Holy Shrine held a photo exhibition in Baghdad titled "Victims of the Baath Regime and Terrorism"

 

 

According to Shabestan News Agency , citing Al-Kafeel, the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs of the Abbasid Holy Shrine (the shrine of Hazrat Abal-Fadl Al-Abbas (AS) in Karbala) held a photo exhibition on the topic of “The horrific crimes of the Baath regime and Takfiri terrorism against the Iraqi people.”

 

Dr. Abbas Qureshi, head of the Center for Documenting Extremist Crimes, affiliated with this section of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs of the al-Abbas’s (pbuh) Holy Shrine, said: “This exhibition was held as part of the mourning ceremony for the anniversary of the martyrdom of Hazrat Zahra (pbuh).

 

He added: “The exhibition witnessed a large turnout from the local community and showcased photographs and documents that depicted a dark period in Iraqi history, a period in which innocent people suffered under the oppression of the Baathists.”

 

He emphasized: “The purpose of holding these exhibitions is to revisit the wounds of the past and strengthen national identity and awareness. It helps to build a future free from extremism and sectarianism, institutionalize a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, and protect society from violent thoughts.”

 

This exhibition is part of a series of activities that the center organizes at universities and academic centers to support research and educational programs, while simultaneously increasing public awareness of the crimes of extremism and forming a strong attitude against violence and takfir.

 

Other exhibits have documented the brutal crimes committed by terrorist groups after 2003.
