Afghan national arrested in Texas on charges of “making terrorist threats”

Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism - US authorities have arrested an Afghan citizen in Texas for posting a video on TikTok in which he showed himself making a bomb and announced his intention to target the Fort Worth area.

According to Shafaqna , citing Sputnik, the US Department of Homeland Security announced that “Mohammad Dawood Alukozai” has been charged with “making a terrorist threat” at the state level. The individual entered the United States during Operation Welcoming Allies during the Joe Biden presidency and after the US withdrawal from Afghanistan in the summer of 2021. He was arrested last Tuesday by the Texas Department of Public Safety and the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force.

The arrest comes as former US President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he intends to permanently suspend immigration to the United States from “third world countries.”

Trump also promised to deport any foreign national who is a burden on society, a security threat, or is incompatible with “Western civilization.” He stressed his determination to deport all people who have entered the country seeking asylum, regardless of nationality.

Trump’s comments came after two National Guardsmen were shot last Wednesday, killing 20-year-old officer Sarah Bickstrom and leaving her colleague Andrew Wolf, 24, in critical condition. US Attorney General Pam Bundy has vowed to seek the death penalty against the shooter if the victims die.

The media has identified the suspect as “Rehmanullah Lakhanwal” (29). CIA Director John Ratcliffe had previously said that the individual had worked with the CIA and other American organizations before entering the United States in 2021.
