On Monday alone, at least 35 children were killed in Lebanon. This number is more than the number of children killed in the last 11 months (22 people).

In another part of her speech, Ettie Higgins said that according to the information provided by the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, more than 1,645 people were injured on Monday, including children and women.
UNICEF’s deputy representative in Lebanon continued, “As I speak, more children are in danger.” At risk of ongoing attacks, they are displaced from their homes and unable to rely on a health system that suffers from a lack of resources. If we go back to previous conflicts, like the 2006 war, my fear is that the current conflict has worse effects on children.

Especially families from villages and cities in southern regions, in eastern Lebanon, have been forced to leave their homes. This recent conflict has led to the displacement of 112,000 people since October last year. schools across the country are currently closed, leaving children at home in fear. Their parents are also scared. Yesterday (Monday, October 2) was the worst day in Lebanon in the last 18 years. This violence must stop immediately. Otherwise, the results will be unbearable.
