Jordan: Burning of Kamal Adwan Hospital is a heinous war crime

The Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism - The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the burning of Kamal Adwan Hospital, calling it a heinous war crime.

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the burning of Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip by Israeli forces in a statement on Friday, calling it a heinous war crime. In the statement, the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while strongly condemning the act and forcing patients and medical staff to evacuate it, said that this act is a clear violation of international and humanitarian law.

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered the security of civilians and medical staff working in this hospital to be the responsibility of the Israeli regime.

Jordan stressed its complete opposition and condemnation of this targeted attack on medical facilities and staff.

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered this act a violation of international law, especially the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War, and a dangerous insistence on destroying vital facilities necessary for the survival of residents in northern Gaza.

Jordan called on the international community, especially the Security Council, to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities to force the Zionist regime to stop its attacks on Gaza and its targeting of civilians and to end the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe in the Strip.

On the evening of Friday, January 7, 1403, the Zionist regime forcibly expelled all hospital staff and patients present at the Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip and set the hospital on fire. This action by the Zionist regime was taken in order to separate the northern Gaza Strip from the rest of the Strip and annex it to the occupied Palestinian territories.
