The Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism - the leader of the Iraqi National Wisdom Movement, called for launching an initiative for a comprehensive regional dialogue with the aim of creating permanent processes for understanding and cooperation between the countries of the region, as well as establishing a regional center to combat terrorism in Baghdad.
According to Iran Press, citing the Iraqi News Agency, Sayyed Ammar al-Hakim, the leader of the Iraqi National Wisdom Movement, said: The formation of a strong and powerful country requires the exclusive possession of weapons in the hands of the government, strengthening the rule of law, combating financial and administrative corruption, and economic reforms, and any negligence in this regard will weaken the country and exacerbate crises.
At a ceremony commemorating the anniversary of the martyrdom of “Ayatollah Sayyed Muhammad Baqir al-Hakim”, Hakim said: Iraq has gone through difficult stages, but thanks to the grace of God Almighty, the presence of religious authorities, the wise actions of political leaders, the will of the nation, the steadfastness of its men, and their deep faith in the integrity of this land, it has been able to rise.
He added: “Iraq is at the heart of the region and cannot be unaffected by regional and international challenges. We must adopt a balanced policy that prioritizes Iraq’s interests and makes it a bridge for communication between countries, not a battlefield.” Al-Hakim called for an initiative for a comprehensive regional dialogue aimed at creating permanent processes for understanding and cooperation between the countries of the region. He said: “The rapprochement of views between countries is not only to resolve current differences, but also the first step towards building an integrated regional system based on common interests and mutual respect.” Al-Hakim added: “The aim of this initiative is to resolve the fundamental issues that have been plaguing the region, and this initiative is to adopt peaceful and diplomatic solutions away from tension.” He also called for the establishment of a regional center for combating terrorism, headquartered in Baghdad, in order to exchange information and strengthen the security capabilities of the countries present in the center.
