Google DeepMind UK employees plan to challenge Israel-linked contracts

Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism - The Financial Times reported that employees of Google DeepMind in the UK are planning to form a union to challenge the company's decision to sell artificial intelligence technologies to defense groups linked to the Israeli government.

According to the report, citing informed sources, about 300 London-based DeepMind employees have been trying to join the Communications Workers Union (CWU) in recent weeks.

The Financial Times added that media reports that Google is selling its cloud services and artificial intelligence technologies to the Israeli Ministry of Defense have caused dissatisfaction among employees.

Google has previously had problems with its relations with Israel, with 28 of its employees being fired last year after protesting a cloud services contract with the Israeli government.

For years, Google has been complicit in the Israeli regime’s widespread crimes and human rights violations by providing its users’ information to the Israeli regime under a contract called Nimbus.
