The President of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate announces the formation of a unified body to follow up on cases brought against the occupation

 

Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism – The head of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, Nasser Abu Bakr, announced this evening, Tuesday, the formation of a Palestinian, Arab and international body, in partnership with the Palestinian Bar Association and the Independent Commission for Human Rights, and in cooperation with many human rights institutions, to unifiedly follow up on the legal files that are filed in the courts. International Committee against the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces against Palestinian journalists.

Abu Bakr explained that the union went to the US Federal Court to consider a case that holds the US government responsible for the genocidal war committed against Palestinian journalists, and demands that it stop supporting the occupation militarily, politically and financially for the crimes of genocide it is committing.

Abu Bakr pointed out that the court has held two sessions so far, and is continuing to consider the case in which the union is represented by competent lawyers in partnership with the American Federation of Journalists in New York and Palestinian civil society organizations.

The head of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate confirmed that the Journalists Syndicate works on several levels daily and will knock on every available legal door, and that prosecuting the occupation for its crimes against Palestinian journalists is a natural right, leading to stopping their targeting and ensuring that perpetrators, murderers and criminals do not escape punishment.

Abu Bakr also mentioned that next month will witness the organization of an event at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva sponsored by the International Federation of Journalists, with the participation of a number of special rapporteurs from the United Nations, international officials and global organizations.
