Sanders made these statements on the social network X, addressing Netanyahu: You do not fight terrorism by starving people and killing tens of thousands of civilians.
Referring to the statements of Moshe Ya’alon, the former Minister of Defense of the Zionist regime, who had said: Benjamin Netanyahu’s government and the current Israeli authorities are committing war crimes in the Gaza Strip, the American senator added: We call on other Israeli military leaders to join him and raise their voices.
Ya’alon, who served as Israel’s Minister of Defense during the 2014 Gaza War, attended a ceremony on Saturday and condemned the Netanyahu government and its actions in the Gaza Strip, calling them war crimes.
He said: “The path they are taking us down is occupation, annexation and ethnic cleansing. Look at the northern strip.”
The former Israeli defense minister also stated: “Israel is being dragged towards settlements in this land, an idea supported by far-right politicians in the Netanyahu government.”
Ya’alon also said in an interview with Israeli radio a few days ago that the Netanyahu government is exposing Israeli commanders to lawsuits in the International Criminal Court and putting their lives in danger.
