Switzerland launches investigation against Israeli soldier on charges of war crimes

Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism - Switzerland has launched a criminal investigation against a Zionist resident in the country on charges of committing war crimes during the Israeli war against the residents of the Gaza Strip.

According to IRNA, the news site “Palestine Online” published this news, citing the Israeli Radio and Television Organization, and quoting the “Hind Rajab” Foundation, an organization supporting the Palestinian people, adding: Switzerland has launched an investigation against an Israeli soldier suspected of committing war crimes on its soil.

The foundation added: The complaint against this Israeli soldier contains a lot of evidence that shows that this person participated in war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

The complaint provides ample evidence that this individual was involved in war crimes and crimes against humanity, including attacks on civilians, the destruction of homes and hospitals, forced displacement and other serious violations of international law committed in the Gaza Strip, the foundation said in a statement.

The foundation commended Switzerland’s commitment to upholding international law and ensuring that war criminals do not find safe haven on its territory.

The foundation said the investigation sends a clear message that there will be no sanctuary for those who commit war crimes, regardless of rank or nationality.

The statement added: “While political and military leaders are responsible for planning and ordering these crimes, the military and officers who committed these crimes must also be held accountable under international law.”

The Hind Rajab Foundation is a non-governmental organization supporting Palestinians that aims to “break the cycle of Israeli impunity and commemorate Hind Rajab and other victims of the Gaza genocide.”

Hind Rajab (May 4, 2018 – January 29, 2024) was a 6-year-old Palestinian girl from the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood in Gaza City. An Israeli tank opened fire on the car she was fleeing with six of her relatives, and she was the only survivor of the attack. The Israeli army later killed Hind Rajab as well.

The Hind Rajab Foundation has filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court against 1,000 Israeli soldiers, in addition to war crimes and crimes against humanity, for committing genocide in the Gaza Strip.

The foundation stated on its official website that a complaint against 1,000 defendants with evidence and documents has been submitted to the International Criminal Court in The Hague, and the evidence and documents provided prove their active and systematic participation in committing war crimes during the war that has been going on for more than a year against the people of Gaza.

The charges against these 1,000 Israeli soldiers include destroying the infrastructure of the Gaza Strip, targeting civilian homes, schools and hospitals, participating in the siege of the Gaza Strip and preventing the entry of humanitarian aid, relief, water and food into the territory, as well as using inhumane war tactics to target refugee camps and starve Palestinian refugee families.

The Indian Rajab Foundation says that among the defendants are officers and high-ranking officials of the Israeli army, who are accused of planning, implementing and supervising the crimes that have been committed against the people of the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023 (15 Mehr 1402).

Therefore, the trial of Israeli soldiers for war crimes outside the occupied Palestinian territories has become a real nightmare for the Israeli regime and will cause many diplomatic problems for the regime with a number of countries.
