A knife attack in a market in the city of Mulhouse, located in eastern France, resulted in the death of one person and the injury of five others.
According to IRNA, citing the Patrice news website, the Mulhouse public prosecutor’s office announced in a statement that two of the injured in the incident are police officers and their condition is reported to be serious.
Nicolas Heitz, the public prosecutor of Mulhouse, announced in a statement that the perpetrator of the attack was a 37-year-old man who was on the terrorist threat watch list.
According to the Patrice news website, French Interior Minister Bruno Retalo is also scheduled to travel to Mulhouse to assess the situation and announce the government’s support for the police and the victims of the incident.
The French government was fully aware of this individual, his name was on the list of suspects, and sought to deport this terrorist from the country. It seems that he, who saw himself on the verge of deportation from the country, carried out this terrorist act, and his attribution to Islamism is an Islamophobic attempt by European governments to marginalize Muslim minorities living in European countries. And such actions have nothing to do with Islamist thought.
