He noted: “Unfortunately, such terrorist acts, which are constantly claiming the lives of the nations of the region, not only take innocent lives but also lead to new differences and tensions between the countries of the region.” He strongly condemned any terrorist act and stated: “Pakistan itself has been a victim of terrorism and is well aware of the need to decisively combat this sinister phenomenon. We seek to improve the country’s economic situation and promote the welfare of the Pakistani nation. Like the Islamic Republic of Iran, we emphasize peace, stability, and lasting security in the region.” In a telephone conversation with the Indian Prime Minister, the Iranian President also strongly condemned the terrorist incident in Pahalgam, India, and expressed sympathy for the government and people of this country, emphasizing the need for cooperation between the countries of the region to confront terrorism and solidarity against this common threat. In a telephone call with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr. Pezeshkian emphasized: The Islamic Republic of Iran strongly condemns such terrorist and inhuman acts.

Referring to the increasing trend of terrorist acts in the region, the President of Iran noted: These bitter incidents double the common responsibility of all countries in the region and require us to dry up the roots of terrorism and ensure lasting peace and tranquility for our nations with empathy, solidarity, and close cooperation.

Continuing, Dr. Pezeshkian praised the precious legacy of great Indian leaders and stated: We know the Indian nation with prominent figures such as Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, who were messengers of peace, friendship, and peaceful coexistence in the world. We hope that this strategic approach and policy will continue to be the cornerstone of India’s relations with all countries in the world.
