Azam Nazir Tarar: Terrorism is the legacy of Western wars
Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism - Stressing that terrorism is a "gift from the West," Pakistan's Law Minister said that as a frontline country, Pakistan has been paying the price for participating in imposed wars for four decades.

Azam Nazir Tarar, Pakistan’s Law Minister , declared that terrorism is a gift from the West to Pakistan and that the country continues to pay the price for participating in other people’s wars.
In Islamabad, during his speech at the Asma Jahangir Conference, he stated: “Pakistan has been a frontline country in the war against terrorism and has made extensive sacrifices over the past 40 years; in a way that no other country in the world has fought terrorism for such a long time.”
Referring to the issue of missing persons, the Pakistani Law Minister announced the government’s decision to form a new committee in this regard and said: “It has been observed in numerous cases that individuals involved in terrorist acts have been included in the list of missing persons.”
According to him, the new committee will be required to carefully examine these cases to make a clear distinction between the real victims and terrorist elements.
Azam Nazir Tarar also announced that citizens convicted in military courts will soon have the right to a speedy appeal. He added: “The government has taken decisions in this regard that will soon be submitted to the parliament for review and approval.”
In conclusion, he emphasized the need for a global review of the consequences of imposed wars, noting: Pakistan continues to pay the price for policies whose roots were formed outside the country’s borders.
