The US House of Representatives has approved a bill to sanction the International Criminal Court

Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism - The US House of Representatives has approved a bill to sanction the International Criminal Court.

The US House of Representatives has approved a bill to sanction the International Criminal Court with 243 votes in favor.

The bill, which was approved with 140 votes against, emphasizes the sanctions on individuals and entities involved in the investigation or detention of Israeli officials or any other US ally.

The bill to sanction the International Criminal Court was previously approved by the US House of Representatives in June last year with 247 votes in favor, but due to the majority of representatives of the Democratic Party, it was not sent to the Senate.

In order for this bill to become law, it must be approved by the Senate and the US President. The US Congress’s attempt to sanction an international court while parts of the country are suffering from widespread wildfires has been met with opposition.

Sanctioning judges of the International Criminal Court would be a dangerous step in creating a safe haven for war criminals who, through their connections with the US government, can escape punishment for crimes against humanity. Such an environment would jeopardize international security.
