Pakistan: Terrorism linked to American weapons in Afghanistan

Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism  - Pakistan's Defense Minister, referring to the increase in terrorist attacks in the country, emphasized that this situation is due to the use of American weapons left in Afghanistan.

In a press conference in Islamabad, Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif expressed concern about the increase in terrorist attacks in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and pointed to the advanced American weapons left in Afghanistan, saying: These weapons have fallen into the hands of militant groups and are a serious threat to Pakistan’s security.

He added: The Taliban in Afghanistan are responsible for using these weapons and this equipment must be returned quickly.

The Pakistani government had previously accused the Taliban of helping the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and that this group is harming Pakistan’s security by using American weapons. In this regard, the Pakistani Defense Minister called on the United States to help reduce terrorist threats by taking back its weapons.

Meanwhile, relations between the Taliban and Pakistan have become extremely tense, and in response to these demands, the Taliban has announced that it considers these weapons “spoils of war” and will not return them under any circumstances. Khawaja Asif also stated that Pakistan, as one of the biggest victims of terrorism, is at the forefront of this fight, and its officials emphasize the need for urgent action to restore security.
