Funeral of Iran’s Martyr Leader: A Symbol of the Nations’ Awakening Against Terrorism
The Public Relations Department of Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism , in a note examining the enthusiastic public presence at the farewell and funeral ceremonies of the martyred leader of Iran, addressed the anti-terrorist nature of this presence. In the note, we read:

After the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Iran’s relationship with the United States and the Zionist regime underwent fundamental changes. The cordial relationship of the Pahlavi II with the Zionist regime and the oil support for this criminal regime ended after the revolution, when the Zionist regime’s embassy in Iran was handed over to Palestinian groups. On the other hand, the revelation of the American spy den in Iran strained relations between Iran and the United States. In response to this revelation, the United States sought to restore its authority in Iran with two plans: the attack on Tabas and the Nojeh coup, both of which failed. The Tabas attack ended in a humiliating defeat for the American special forces in May 1980. The Nojeh coup was also revealed in July of the same year and was nipped in the bud with the arrest of the main members.
Having failed in these two examples of direct action by the United States, the country pursued its hostility through its proxy forces in the region, in order to avoid further losses. Saddam’s Baathist attack on Iran was among the American plans to weaken the Islamic Republic. Along with this foreign invasion, the use of terrorism by separatist and terrorist groups such as the MKO TERRORISTS was among the United States’ counter-plans to create social and security crises against the Islamic Republic. Plans that are designed and implemented within the framework of the policy of containing the Islamic Republic in the region and the world.
Within the framework of this policy of containing the Islamic Republic, in addition to military aggression and the use of terrorism against the Iranian nation, economic sanctions were also introduced to the scene of the hegemonic regime’s confrontation with the Iranian people. The history of economic sanctions goes back to the British sanctions against the Iranian people, after the nationalization of the oil industry in 1940 and the confrontation with the government of Mohammad Mossadegh. A government that withdrew from the Iranian political scene with the American-British coup on August 18, 1953. After the Islamic Revolution, just two weeks after the revelation of the American spy den in Iran, the first serious sanctions were imposed on Iran. On November 14, 1979 (November 23, 1979), US President Jimmy Carter signed Executive Order No. 12170, according to which all Iranian assets in American banks and financial institutions under the control of this country were frozen. In this way, billions of dollars of Iranian assets, from the reserves of the Central Bank to the properties of government institutions, were locked up, and Iran’s access to its capital became practically impossible. After that, numerous sanctions were imposed under various pretexts, such as human rights and the nuclear program, with the aim of putting pressure on Iran’s economy.
All of these measures, despite the damage they caused to the Iranian nation, not only did they not lead to surrender to the hegemonic excesses in the West Asian region, but they also created new capacities for the resistance movement against the hegemonic movement in the region.
The United States’ actions against Iran in the region entered a new phase with the suspected terrorist attack on September 11, followed by the US attacks on Iraq and Afghanistan. The presence of these foreign forces in the West Asian region became a threat to the national security of many countries in the region, including Iran. As a result of this presence, more violent and criminal terrorist groups such as ISIS were created. In order to confront these terrorist groups, resistance forces were formed, and with their defeat, foreign forces in the region lost their reason for being present. The formation of popular resistance forces against terrorism was one of the results of the presence of foreign forces in the region, which ended up in favor of the resistance movement against the hegemonic regime. Resistance forces were one of the main reasons for the defeat of terrorist forces in the region.
With this in mind, the United States and its proxy in the region, the Zionist regime, as the center of the global domination system, found themselves facing a wave of resistance that they could no longer confront indirectly, using terrorism, sanctions, and political and economic inefficiency. In such an environment, what they feared had come upon them. The awakening of the people against the arrogant people of Iran had reached other nations in the region. Or, to put it better, this awakening of the Iranian people had been exported to the countries of the region.
As a result of such a crushing defeat, the hegemonic system entered the scene with all its might and sought to restore its dominance in the region through direct military actions. It is at this stage that we see a dual face of the hegemonic system before us: on the one hand, the hegemonic system is on the path to collapse and sees its weakness in the cries of grievances of the people of the region, and on the other hand, sensing the danger of the hegemonic system’s decline in power, it has brought military actions to the fore at the highest level of readiness to prevent the complete collapse of this global system. It can be said that now the entire military machine of the hegemonic system stands against the freedom-seeking of the independent nations of the region.
The recent attacks by the US and the Zionist regime against Iran can be analyzed in this atmosphere of desperation on the part of the hegemonic regime. In the first round of attacks, in 2025, Iran’s military infrastructure was targeted. But Iran’s surprising response based on missile power pushed the hegemonic regime back. In the second round, this desperation reached its peak and the main plan to end the resistance movement against the hegemonic regime was put on the stage. A resistance that sees itself as central in Iran.
In the second round, the assassination of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution by the United States and the Zionist regime was considered the key to the success of this plan. The calculations of the hegemony system were based on the hypothesis that, after the assassination of senior officials of the Islamic Republic, there would be no more power left for confrontation and resistance in other ranks and this center of resistance in the West Asian region would collapse. With the collapse of this center, other resistance movements in the corners of the region would also disappear, and a domination of several decades would prevail over this region.
This was the same logic that drove the terrorist acts of the 1980s in Iran. Based on it, the ruling regime set targets for the terrorist group of the MKO TERRORISTS. The assassinations of the summer of 1981, with the terrorist act against the office of the Islamic Republic Party and the explosion of the Prime Minister’s office on 1981, were carried out within this framework. A plan that at the time exposed the terrorist nature of the MKO TERRORISTS and increased popular support for the Islamic Republic.
Now, this plan has also faced a humiliating defeat. The hegemonic regime, which has become frustrated with the actions of its proxy and terrorist forces, has entered the scene itself to assassinate the leaders of the Islamic Republic and other leaders of the regional resistance movement in Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, etc., to get rid of the resistance movement against domination once and for all. But just as it failed in the 1960s, it also suffered a heavy defeat in 2025 and 2026.
In this atmosphere, the people of Iran and the region have come to realize that all the claims of the world’s hegemonic regime defending democracy and human rights are nothing more than a deception. The deception that had protected itself for years with double standards against terrorism and crimes against humanity has now lost its luster, despite tragedies such as the attack on the Shajarah Tayyiba school in Minab, and the people of Iran and the world are increasingly coming to the conclusion that US state terrorism is not an unprovable hypothesis, but a logical conclusion from the available and real evidence.
The people of Iran and the region have realized very well that when the knife reaches the bone, so to speak, of the US-led hegemony system, it reveals its naked terrorist nature and recognizes no limits or boundaries to achieve its goals, using tools such as terrorist proxies and state terrorism.
One of the sufficient reasons to prove the existence of this awakening among the people of Iran and the region is the grandeur and grandeur of the funeral ceremonies of the martyred leader of Iran and his family in Iran and Iraq. The enthusiastic presence of the people in the farewell and funeral ceremonies of the martyred leader of Iran is a manifestation of the growing awakening of the nations against the criminal and unjust nature of the system of domination and a cry against this crime against humanity. An awakening that has united many people, from different strata and perspectives, to achieve a single goal, namely the condemnation of terrorism.
This awakening will certainly be the starting point for the collapse of the hegemonic system that is in the final stages of its life and is failing to preserve itself through military and terrorist actions at the highest level. This awakening will not only thwart the proxy terrorism of the hegemonic system in the West Asian region, such as ISIS and the MKO TERRORISTS, but will also, in the near future, end the state terrorism of the hegemonic system by the US and the Zionist regime.
