Iran condemns terrorist attack in Balochistan, Pakistan

Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism- Esmail Baghai, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, strongly condemned the terrorist act in the province of Balochistan, Pakistan, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of a number of innocent workers.

 

According to the IRNA Foreign Policy Group, on Friday, 16 February 1403, Ismail Baghai, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, strongly condemned the terrorist act near a coal mine in the city of Harnai, Balochistan, Pakistan, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of a number of innocent workers.

Emphasizing the principled position of the Islamic Republic of Iran in condemning terrorism in all its forms and wherever it is committed, Baghai expressed sympathy with the families of the victims and the people and government of Pakistan, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also emphasized the need to strengthen efforts and cooperation at the bilateral and regional levels to prevent and combat terrorism.

According to IRNA, the incident occurred on Friday, February 16, following a bomb explosion while a vehicle carrying miners from Shahrag passed through the districts of Harnai County. Balochistan provincial police announced that at least 11 miners were killed and several others were injured. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the explosion, however, elements affiliated with the separatist terrorist group known as the Baloch Liberation Army have claimed responsibility for many bombings and suicide operations in the past.
