Another Page of the Mojahedin Khalq Organization Crime Against Iranian People

Shortly after 8:00 AM on 12 May 1985, a large explosion shook Tehran's Nasser Khosro Street, and another chapter in the years of crimes and betrayal by the terrorist group of the Mojahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) was written. This terrorist crime, which was a continuation of Massoud Rajavi's gift from Paris for the innocent people of Iran. It was committed by the brutal terrorist group of the MKO. The crimes took place after Rajavi returned from a secret trip to Paris and declared an armed fighting in June 1981 against the fledgling revolution of the Iranian people, and as a result, many innocent women and children from different social classes were killed in the streets.

 

 

On this day, the MKO committed another crime against the people of Iran by detonating 50 pounds of TNT, which they had hidden in the trunk of a cream-colored Peykan, with the aim of creating terror and taking revenge from the people who stood by their ideals.

This terrorist attack took place in the busy and crowded Nasser Khosro area, and 9 innocent passersby named “Israfil Adabnejad”, “Jalil Bagher Azari Khameneh”, “Iraj Hatami”, “Mohammad Saqti”, “Mohammad Esmail Abdi Sayab”, “Seyed Hossein Miri”, “Alireza Karbalaei Ali”, “Reza Kazemi Golestan” and “Eyvaz Ebrahimi” were martyred and 45 others were injured. Also, 15 cars were burned and 25 shops were damaged.

On 12 May 1985, one of the reporters of the Jomhouri Eslami newspaper described this bloody terrorist attack as follows: “Initial reports indicate the martyrdom of fourteen people and the injury of more than forty of the deprived people and merchants of Nasser Khosro Street.”

“The bodies of five of the martyrs of the inhuman crime of the American mercenaries (MKO) were torn to pieces due to the proximity of the car carrying the bomb, and parts of their bodies were thrown onto the branches of trees and the walls of buildings in the areas. The bodies of the four unknown bodies were also taken to Sina Hospital in Tehran.”

“The bodies of five unidentified martyrs were also transferred to the forensic medicine, four of whom were brought directly from the location of the explosion. A number of those injured in the explosion were passengers of a single-decker bus of the Nasser Khosro Atabak Line, which was close to the place of the explosion.”

“The report states that the bomb explosion also caused a fire in the area, during which two two-floor and three-floor commercial buildings were set on fire at the epicenter of the explosion. Firefighting operations began by rescue forces immediately, and an hour later, firefighters extinguished the fire. During the blast, 8 shops were completely destroyed or burned down. A pharmacy, three electrical shops, a cloth shop, a meat stall, and a public telephone booth were among the destroyed properties. Two cars were completely wrecked, a bus and a minibus were damaged, 15 cars also had little and total damage and 2 motorcycles were completely burned down.”

“Also, 30 individuals of the injured in this terrorist attack were taken to Sina and Andarzgou hospitals. Their names are as follows: Movafeq Ahmadi – Arabali Hassan Heydari – Qasem Jalalvand – Abdullah Mirza Agha-Rahbari – Ali Akbar Hassan Nemati – Ebrahim Majid Afrashteh – Ali Jan Nazari – Ali Hossein Heydarnejad – Sonnat Ali Alian – Ebrahim Ghaffari – Kaffash Kanisi – Behrouz Rahimi – Abdullah Sharif – Hassan Rahbari – Mostafa Ghorban Shahbazi – Mohammad Azimi – Mansur Iranian – Habibollah Heydari – Hossein Behrouzha – Alam Azizollahi – Manijeh Safiyari – Ali Gholami – Mohammad Azizi, Mohammad Ali Khalilpour – Ali Asghar Moghimzadeh – Rajabali Khizi – Ghorban Rajabali – Iman Talebi – Seyyed Abbas Seyed-Eskandari – Ahmad Peymani – Hossein Rastegari. “It is worth mentioning that the majority of the injured and martyrs of the crime of the MKO are peddlers and merchants who were present at the scene of the explosion.”

On the occasion of the anniversary of this painful crime, the Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism, honor the memory of the victims of the crime, and warn Western states, especially France, Germany, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Albania, about supporting the terrorist group of the MKO. We call on international bodies and human rights organizations in these countries to prevent their governments from supporting this terrorist group and expanding its inhumane activities in order to counter terrorism.
