Head of the Iraqi Sunni Ulema Association: Neglecting the fight against extremism has a heavy price for society

Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism - Sheikh Khalid Al-Mulla, head of the Iraqi Sunni Ulema Community, warned against the resurgence of extremism, emphasizing that denying the reality of terrorism and political and expedient approaches to it will impose heavy costs on society.

According to the International News Agency , Sheikh Khalid al-Mulla, on his personal page on the X social network, referred to the increase in terrorist attacks, including an explosion in a Hussainiyah in Pakistan and security incidents in Anbar, and considered these events a clear sign of the return of takfiri and violence-oriented thinking.

He clarified that the main problem is the refusal to accept the existence of extremism and the refusal to clearly identify its roots, which delays the process of effectively confronting terrorism.

He also noted that the experience of past years shows that after defeat, these groups seek refuge in countries that are ideologically and religiously aligned with them, an issue that reveals the dependence and behind-the-scenes support for these movements.

The head of the Iraqi Sunni Ulema Association also called for serious and unwavering resistance to the sources and supporters of terrorism.
