Solidarity of Iranian Children with Child Victims of Terrorism

Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism – International Children’s Movement for Children was held in Shahed girl’s school, on the occasion of the anniversary of adoption of Convention on the Rights of the Child attended by families of victims of terrorism and researchers of terrorism and cooperated with Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism (ADVT) and other organizations.

Welcoming the guests and the children, one of the families of the victims of terrorism explained about 20th November, the anniversary of adoption of Convention on the Rights of the Child in the United Nations. Then, she pointed out the crucial role of the children who are the most important population in every society. She also pointed out some issues regarding security and happiness of children.
She spoke about the terrorist attacks which threatens the life of children all over the world and asked the students to send their writings on child victims of terrorism to the movement so that they can be used.
Ms. Pirani, a researcher in the field of terrorism, explained about UN and its main headquarter to introduce the children with this international body. “Before UN, there were League of Nations and due to its ineffectiveness, UN was established with 51 member states in 1945” she added.
Then, he explained about ADVT’s activities and the issue of victims and stated that victim can have different meaning and one of the meanings is that someone is assassinated while his or her relatives are witnessing the incident.
She explained about the assassination of her husband before her and her 4 year old child eyes. “Everyday similar terrorist attacks happens in our neighboring countries including Yemen, Syria, Iraq and other region of the world”, she said.
In the end of the ceremony, a video clip was shown in which one of the children read a text for supporting child victims of terrorism and their lost rights. Next, the winners of essay writing on victims of terrorism were awarded.
It is worth mentioning that a scroll was signed by some hundreds of children to be presented at international bodies.
