Number of fatalities due to terrorist attacks worldwide between 2006 and 2014

The statistic shows the number of deaths due to terrorism worldwide between 2006 and 2014.  Statista company says around 32,727 people were killed by terrorists in 2014.
Statista is based in Hamburg Germany statistics companies on the internet. Terrorist group of Dae’sh , al-Qaeda, Boko Haramand the Taliban were behind most of the deaths. Iraq was the country most affected by terrorism, the report said. Not only is the intensity of terrorism increasing, its breadth is increasing as well. The latest increase in deaths from terrorism was primarily due to the civil war waged by heinous terrorist groups in Syria, which began in 2011. The destabilization in Syria, which has now overflowed into Iraq, is where we feel the upsurge in terrorism. The report, which investigates terrorism trends between 2000 and 2014, uses data from the US-based Global Terrorism Database and also Institute for Economics and Peace. It includes rankings of countries by the impact of terrorist activities, based on the number of terrorist attacks, deaths and injuries from terrorism, and damage to property. Five countries – Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nigeria and Syria – accounted for huge number of deaths from terrorism till 2014.

Regions of the globe most (and least) affected by terrorist- related deathes in 2014 has been sown in the following dyagram. By region, the Middle East and North Africa were the most affected, accounting for 13,426 of total lives lost to terrorism in 2014.
