The US Has Invaded a Nation on the Other Side of the World

Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism – According to the Information Clearing House website, Caitlin Johnstone, an Australian author, in an article criticized the US occupation of Syria and considered it the result of the appropriation of other countries’ resources.

At the beginning of the article, referring to the American airstrikes in the Deir ez-Zor region of Syria, she states, “US claims to be fighting ISIS in Syria, but in reality, it rarely fights this terrorist group. “The reason for their presence is to prevent Syria from using its own oil and wheat resources, and sometimes it attacks Syrians and its allies who defeated the US-backed sectarian death squads.”

This Australian anti-war writer goes on to say that the United States literally occupies a nation on the other side of the world and kills its people who do not want the presence of US troops, and then claims that it is defending itself.

This Australian writer stated in an example that it is just like if I entered the neighbor’s house to steal, kill him who is trying to stop me and claim that I intended to defend myself.

Referring to the numerous Israeli airstrikes against Syria with the approval of the United States, Ms. Johnstone says that they bomb various areas of Syria under the pretext of preventing the expansion of foreign military forces, while usually causing the death of military forces, civilians and damage to Syrian infrastructure.

In the end, she said that Westerners only pay attention to the horror caused by war when it involves others. But if the war serves their strategic interests to expand the global power structure, they continuously bomb other countries and rarely reflect on the news. With this logic, you can occupy another country on the other side of the world and claim that you are defending yourself.

Also, in connection with the Western interventions in the Middle East, a few years ago, a German scholar named Mr. Michael Luders, in a book entitled “Blowback”, considered the interventionist policies of the West in the Middle East to be the root of all insecurity and destruction in the region. It has left nothing but scorched lands. This German writer states that the West does not want to learn from the past of interfering in the affairs of other countries.
