Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism in cooperation with Sarchesmeh Cultural Complex held the First International Conference of the Martyrs of the Islamic Revolution at the memorial site of Sarchesmeh Cultural Complex on the 27th June on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of martyrdom of Ayatollah Beheshti and 72 of loyal companions of the Islamic Revolution. It was attended by national officials, cultural activists, academics and the families of the victims of terrorism in Iran.
In this conference, Mr. Hassan Rahimpour Azghadi, a member of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution, stated that the only religion whose leaders were all assassinated is Shia. He said the purpose of terrorist acts is to terrify people. Quran says that one should resist with strength against those who treat people violently. If one fight against the oppressor in a just way and fight against oppression, it is considered a holy fight.
The member of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution continued, “There is still no clear definition of terrorism in the world and world powers justify any kind of act based on their interests.”
In the end, he said, the assassinations will continue and there is no end to the list of victims of terrorism. At the beginning of the revolution, they assassinated the leaders of Iran, and now they assassinate nuclear scientists and innocent young people. People are not the targets, but thoughts are targets, and if Beheshti was just a simple cleric without ideas, he would never have been assassinated. He was killed, because Shahid Beheshti was a symbol of a thoughtful, literate, logical, fearless and brave cleric in the true sense. As Imam Khomeini said about him “Beheshti was a nation”.
Then, Dr. Saeed Jalili, a member of the Supreme National Security Council, stated that one of the important issues in Quran is that when every divine movement begins, the evils have not remained silent so that they can prevent its realization. Today, we have experienced this issue and in the last forty years, all the enemies have countered the Islamic revolution. At any point, they have made certain movements against the revolution, and the first three years of the revolution were very important.
He continued, in those first three years of the revolution, there was an example of a hybrid war against the Islamic revolution. We must reflect on the first three years because there were various attacks against the Islamic revolution.
The member of the Supreme National Security Council continued Martyr Diyalameh, one of the martyrs of the Hafte Tir bombing, responded to the doubts of the Hypocrites (MKO) only two days after the meetings were held and started a series of sessions of explanations. But after the terrorists failed to deceive the people with their void claims, they started to assassinate the supporters of the revolution. So we can say that terrorism is the end of logic.
At the end of his remarks, Dr. Jalili said, “One must not hesitate in supporting the path of truth.”
Next speaker, Mohammad Mahdi Esmaili, the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, said that Shahid Beheshti had several characteristics that, due to his insistence on them, made a significant contribution to the stabilization and continuation of the Islamic movement in Iran. First, there was an effort to train human resources to advance the Imam Khomeini’s movement. Many officials of the system were trained by his educational activities. Second, after the Islamic revolution, they created a nationwide and coherent party in the days after the Islamic revolution. And they created a wide network of revolutionary forces with different thoughts.
The Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance further said that we should take an example from Beheshti for today and while committing to religion, we should be equipped with new sciences.
In this ceremony, Mr. Hamidreza Borqaei and Ahmad Babaei recited poems in memory of the martyrs. Also, the artists of an art group created paintings works and line drawings focused on the martyrs of the Hafte Tir Bombing and the terrorist explosion of the office of the Islamic Republic Party, and a clip of the Shamim Yass hymn group was screened about the martyrs of the terrorist attack in 1981.
At the end of the ceremony, the families of the martyrs of Hafte Tir Bombing, the nuclear scientist martyrs and the martyrs of the shrine defenders and security were commemorated with gifts.
