The military management of al-Hol camp is seeking to eliminate ISIS operational cells in al-Hol camp in an operation called “Sustainable Security.”
In their final statement on the “Sustainable Security” operation, these forces stated that over the past years, the ISIS terrorist organization sought to activate its terrorist cells and carry out terrorist attacks to destabilize northeastern Syria.
The statement continued by saying that ISIS terrorists focused on al-Hol camp and repeatedly sought to remove their members and families from the camp and consolidate their power among the residents of the camp.
In another part of the statement, it was stated that this terrorist group was bringing weapons and explosives into the camp and wanted to build tunnels and bunkers there. However, the Sustainable Security operation thwarted these ISIS plans.
The al-Hol camp is located in northeastern Syria and is run by Kurdish forces backed by the US. Several thousand ISIS elements and their families are being held in this camp. For this reason, any security incident in this camp could lead to a disaster for the security of Syria and Iraq, and the people of the West Asian region in general.
