The necessity of filing complaints against terrorists in local and official European courts
Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism - A researcher and professor at the University of Tehran, referring to the injustice of the victims of terrorism, considered widespread complaints against terrorist groups, their leaders and members at the international level as an appropriate solution.
In an interview with Mizan News Agency, referring to the ceremony of unveiling the Encyclopedia of Martyrs of Terror and the injustice of the victims of terrorism, Sadegh Koushki, a researcher and professor at the University of Tehran, described widespread complaints against terrorist groups, their leaders and members at the international level as an appropriate solution to express the injustice of these victims, and said: One of the measures that should have been taken since the 1960s, at the height of the terror attacks, is the discussion of complaints by the families of the victims of terrorism in various international courts and forums; that is, complaints were filed from local European courts to official courts in various European countries.
Describing the results of such an action, Koushki stated: The sentences issued could have paralyzed the terrorists, created problems for them, and called them into question. Even if these sentences were not implemented, they would have prevented the MKO from speaking and making any movements in European forums.
The university professor said: This action will actually lock these terrorists in Europe and cause problems, and if they do speak out in international forums, we will show the sentences against them; even if these terrorists want to accuse the Islamic Republic of Iran in international forums, we will question that testimony by showing these sentences; human rights representatives have repeatedly condemned the Islamic Republic of Iran with the testimony of these terrorists, but by showing these sentences we can refute those testimonies.
This political expert continued by pointing out the weak role of international organizations and human rights in holding countries that support terrorism accountable, saying: “We should not expect these organizations to condemn terror attacks on their own. Naturally, they will not do so. What is important is to file lawsuits and complaints in international forums and courts.
Referring to the important role of various figures and groups in expressing the injustice of the victims of terrorism, Koushki said: “As a teacher, people like me and politicians should regularly, under different pretexts and on different occasions, in the domestic and international space, raise the victims of terrorism and introduce the terrorists in return.”
The researcher clarified: “If this repetition does not take place, both our society will forget the victims of terrorism and the executioners, and the enemy will change the place of the executioner and the martyr, and on the other hand, the executioners will introduce themselves as victims in international forums.” This repetition causes the martyr to always remain in the position of a martyr and beloved, and the terrorist to always remain an executioner and hated.
