Two Human Rights Watch researchers resign in protest of support for Israel

Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism - Two senior researchers at Human Rights Watch, who made up the organization's entire staff of experts on Israel and Palestine, resigned from their positions in protest of the organization's actions in support of this regime.

According to the Palestinian Information Center, the Hebrew-language network “Israel 24” revealed that the international organization Human Rights Watch is facing an unprecedented internal crisis.

According to this report, the organization’s two-person investigative team in the “Israel” and “Palestine” sections have resigned en masse due to deep disagreements with management levels.

The main reason for the resignation was the interference of the leadership and management of Human Rights Watch in the process of publishing a legal report. The report emphasized that “Israel’s denial of the right of return to Palestinian refugees” is a clear example of a “crime against humanity.” However, the organization’s senior management prevented the publication of the report.

The two researchers, who were the only dedicated members of the department, believe that the organization’s management has deviated from its professional principles by censoring these legal findings. Human Rights Watch has previously published reports accusing Israel of practicing apartheid against the Palestinians, but preventing the publication of the latest report indicates increasing pressure on the organization regarding sensitive cases related to Palestinian rights.
