Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism – The head of the Martyrs Foundation, Abdel-Ilah Al-Naeli, revealed the allocation of a new 100 billion to disburse cash allowance to victims of terrorism.
Al-Naili said in that context: “There was a delay in the past in disbursing the cash allowance to victims of terrorism, and it was due to the failure to allocate funds to this large segment, even though it was approved by Law No. 57 of 2015, but the cash allowance for victims of terrorism was not activated except in the Emergency Support Law, and we coordinated.” “Directly with the House of Representatives and other specialized committees in order to allocate the amount, which was actually disbursed and distributed to 10,000 families at a rate of 10 million dinars for each.”
He added, “The disbursement process was preceded by setting controls for distributing the cash allowance in Baghdad specifically, because the capital has no land. The amount was distributed to the directorates of the martyrs of Rusafa, Al-Sadr, and Al-Karkh, and it was spent with priorities, including on families that have more than one martyr or those who live on rent and the elderly over Seventy years of age, as well as those suffering from cancer.
Al-Naili continued, “The amount has been completely exhausted, and in this year 2024, another hundred billion will be allocated to this large segment. The number of applicants for the cash allowance within the Ur electronic portal reached more than 23,000 applicants in the first batch, while paper transactions before the Ur portal reached more than 20,000.” We will continue to coordinate with the government, the Ministry of Finance, and Parliament in order to find additional allocations for the segment of victims of terrorism.”
