Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding of the Tripartite Judicial Committee to Counter Terrorism between Iran, Iraq and Syria

Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism - The Memorandum of Understanding of the Tripartite Judicial Committee to Counter Terrorism between Iran, Iraq and Syria was signed on the second day of the visit of the Vice President of International Affairs of the Judiciary to Damascus to deal with terrorism.

 

 

According to IRNA, on the second day of the meeting of the first tripartite joint judicial committee to counter terrorism between Iran, Iraq and Syria with the aim of countering terrorist acts and terrorist groups, especially the ISIS terrorist group, the committee’s memorandum was signed by Kazem Gharibabadi, the deputy of international affairs of the judiciary. Judge Hassan al-Shash, head of the Supreme Court of Syria, and Judge Layth Jabr, head of the Iraqi Judicial Supervision Organization, arrived.

Regarding matters agreed between the three countries, Gharibabadi said: expanding tripartite legal and judicial cooperation through continuous exchange of information and experiences, discovering crimes and prosecuting the accused, documenting the crimes committed, prosecuting and extraditing and punishing the agents of the ISIS terrorist group and their supporters. and defending the rights of victims in national and international courts.

According to him, judicial assistance in the territory of the three countries, filing lawsuits and complaints in foreign courts against terrorist groups and their supporters, identifying the leaders and main elements of terrorist groups and putting their names on the United Nations terrorist list and prosecuting the officials, partners and The terrorist attack of the Zionist regime on the consular building of the Iranian embassy in Damascus is one of the most important cases mentioned in this memorandum.

The Vice President of International Affairs of the Judiciary stated: Also, in this memorandum, it was decided to form a joint working group to document terrorist acts committed by terrorist groups in three countries, the feasibility of forming a joint court to deal with crimes committed by terrorist groups in accordance with the laws of the three countries and the exchange of documents. and the information related to the terrorist crime of Baghdad International Airport, which led to the martyrdom of Haj Qassem Soleimani, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis and their companions, and the prosecution of the perpetrators of this crime, urgent action should be taken by the members of this committee.
