UNRWA: More than 80% of the population of Gaza has been displaced
Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism - According to TRT Turkey, UNRWA Commissioner Philip Lazzarini said that we need a different path for the good of the people of Gaza, Israel, other parts of the region and beyond.
Philip Lazzarini, the Commissioner General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), drew attention to the displacement of more than 80% of the population of Gaza in an announcement on the X social network.
Lazzarini pointed out that 17,000 children in Gaza were left without support or were separated from their families. During the 4-month war in Gaza, nearly 100,000 people were killed, injured or missing. This is roughly equivalent to 5% of the population. You can easily understand what this means in your city or country.
Emphasizing that the conflicts in Gaza continue, Lazzarini stated, the war has continued without interruption, but there will be no winner. There will be only pain, misery and sorrow. The time for a ceasefire has come. We need a different path for the good of the people of Gaza, Israel, the rest of the region and beyond.
According to the notification of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, 27 thousand 478 people, most of whom were women and children, were killed and 66 thousand 835 Palestinians were injured in Israeli attacks since October 7.
