Iqbal Mohammed, a member of the British House of Commons, accused the British government of directly and indirectly supporting Israel’s war crimes in Gaza. A member of the “Independent Coalition” group of five members of parliament who support Gaza and include former Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, he spoke to Anadolu Agency about his opposition to the British government’s support for Israel.
The British MP said, “I regret that the British government, when these Israeli war criminals are brought to trial, will be prosecuted as complicit in these war crimes.” He condemned the killing of innocent civilians in Gaza and the West Bank, called for an end to these actions, and called on those who are complicit in these crimes to withdraw their support.
Mohammed added: “It is very simple. The killing of innocent civilians in Gaza, north, south and across the Strip, as well as in the West Bank and Israeli settlements, must stop.
The MP added: “How many more people must be killed in Gaza before the British government stops its direct and indirect support for Israeli war crimes?”
Mohammed concluded: “They don’t want to call these crimes in Gaza genocide. This is genocide. They don’t want to call it ethnic cleansing, when these actions are ethnic cleansing. They don’t want to call it massacre, when it is massacre.”
