WHO chief: 60 percent of Gaza war victims are women and children

The Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism - The head of the World Health Organization said on Tuesday, January 11, 1403, that 60 percent of the 45,000 people killed in Gaza were women and children.

 

 

 

WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus reported the extensive destruction of health facilities in the Gaza Strip. He said in a speech: “The level of destruction of health facilities in Gaza is something we have never seen before.”

Adhanom added: “More than 45,000 people were killed in Gaza, 60 percent of whom were women and children, and this is enough to stop the war.”

Medical reports in Gaza state that 800 children in Gaza were martyred before they turned one year old.

The Palestinian news agency Shehab reported that more than 180 babies were born and martyred during the war, which has been going on since October 7, 2023.

Meanwhile, a UNICEF spokesperson said: “Children in Gaza are suffering from cold and illness, many of them wearing summer clothes.” In recent days, a sixth Palestinian baby in the Gaza Strip has died from the extreme cold, joining his twin brother who was martyred.
