Today, the 29 November, is anniversary of martyrdom of Dr. Majid Shahriari. He was a prominent nuclear physics scientist at Shahid Beheshti University. He was martyred by the Zionist regime in cooperation with the Hypocrites (MEK) in a terrorist operation on 29 November 2010.
Ms. Behjat Ghasemi, Shahriari’s wife, says, “If you call our home, you will hear Majid’s voice on the answering machine saying to leave a message. One night when we were not there, the Majid’s mother called, and when she heard his voice, she started crying. She said hello, my dear, I wanted to hear the voices of the children. “I like your voice,” she said in Turkish.”
This cultural act of the martyr’s family is an effective step towards promoting the rights of the martyrs of science and the country’s progress. On the one hand, it keeps the memory of this outstanding scientist alive, and on the other hand, it will be very effective in raising awareness of the public opinion about this crime, and it requires that cultural bodies pay attention and support this initiative of Shahid Shahriari’s family in different aspects.
Today, on the twelfth anniversary of the martyrdom of this martyr, we must ask the criminals, for what crime they brutally assassinated this scientist. Did they have any other crime other than being elite and solving scientific problems of the society?
In the end, it is worth mentioning that, there is a meaningful significance that the other martyr of science, Dr. Mohsen Fakhrizadeh’s anniversary is on 28 November and Dr. Majid Shahriari’s is on the 29 November. It seems that the enemy is trying to commit a crime against the elites and scientists of this country every day, but it must be acknowledged that the martyrs of science and progress are becoming more popular every day and their path will be more favored by the community of science seekers and progress seekers.
