China at Security Council: Reviving Afghanistan’s economy will help eradicate terrorism
Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism - Sun Li, China's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, emphasized the close connection between economic development and security in a speech at the Security Council meeting and called for the international community's cooperation to revive the economy and improve the livelihoods of the Afghan people. According to him, this measure can help eliminate the grounds for the formation of terrorism.
According to the Afghan Voice News Agency (AVA) , the Chinese representative to the Security Council, referring to the activities of terrorist groups such as ISIS Khorasan in Afghanistan, emphasized the need for the Islamic Emirate to adhere to its commitments in the fight against terrorism.
He warned that groups like ISIS have not only the motivation but also the capability to carry out cross-border attacks, and that Afghanistan must not be allowed to once again become a safe haven for terrorists.
The Chinese diplomat, while warning about the increasing use of new technologies such as artificial intelligence and drones by terrorist groups, called on the international community to target the roots of the crisis by supporting Afghanistan’s economic recovery.
