ISIS presence in western Iraq and Iraqi forces confronting them
Association for Defending Victims of Terrorism- Iraqi sources reported the operation of Iraqi forces against the remnants of ISIS terrorists in Salahuddin province and the attack of Takfiri terrorists on western Anbar and the entry of Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces into action in the area.

According to IRNA, citing Al-Ma’uluma, an Iraqi security source announced on Sunday, May 18, the start of a widespread security operation by the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces with specific targets in the “Makhul” mountains in eastern Salahuddin province in order to secure difficult-to-access areas.
The source stated: Iraqi forces have launched an operation from several axes in the southern part of the Makhuul mountains in eastern Salahuddin to a depth of two kilometers in order to secure difficult-to-access areas with complex geographical conditions.
The Iraqi source stated: This operation was carried out following previous information and explosive ordnance disposal forces are also neutralizing any ISIS bombs or ammunition left behind.
The Iraqi source also emphasized: The aim of this operation is to prevent the activities of ISIS networks and to create a security belt of villages and towns liberated from the remnants of ISIS forces and to maintain the security and stability of the entire region.
This is while a security source in the Iraqi province of Anbar reported the operation of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces in the “Al-Rutba” desert in western Anbar following terrorist threats.
The Iraqi security source announced: Following the receipt of information that ISIS attacked shepherds in the desert areas of Al-Rutba in western Anbar, Iraq and burned their cars, the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces took action.
The source stated that the aim of the operation was to pursue the remnants of ISIS after observing them in difficult-to-pass areas deep in the western Anbar desert and to ensure its complete security up to the “Taribil” crossing on the border with Jordan.
According to this source, the operation of the Popular Mobilization Forces is in line with security plans to destroy ISIS remnants and operations in areas where terrorists are believed to be present.
The Iraqi source stated: The Popular Mobilization Forces targeted ISIS tunnels, caves and hideouts.
The remnants of ISIS terrorist forces are present in hideouts located in rugged and difficult-to-access areas between the provinces, especially in the five provinces of Nineveh, Diyala, Kirkuk, Salahuddin and Anbar, as well as in areas on the borders of Kirkuk and Sulaymaniyah provinces such as; Zaghitun Valley, Wadi Al-Shay, Yunus Mountains and Houran Valley.
The presence of ISIS forces in the regions of Iraq and Syria promises a terrorist act in the future of the region. Actions that will benefit the owners of the arms trade and global powers who want insecurity in the region. This is while foreign forces have been present in the region for years as a means of combating terrorism and have achieved nothing except treating ISIS terrorist forces in Zionist hospitals and using terrorism to displace the people of the region. It has now become clear to everyone that the popular and indigenous forces of the region are fighting and confronting terrorism created by the colonialists.
